GREEN BAY, WI – (WISS and WGBW) – Several school districts offer free meals for children across Northeast Wisconsin over the summer. Many students would not get a meal during the day if not for these summer programs.
The programs offer free breakfast and lunch meals to children 18 years old and younger.
Some of the school districts offering the free meals include the following:
- Appleton Area School District
- Green Bay Area School District
- Menasha Joint School District
- Marinette School District
- Oshkosh Area School District
Meals must be eaten on-site. Some programs, such as Appleton’s and Green Bay’s, are open to all children. They don’t need to be a current district student to get a free meal.
The Green Bay and Appleton programs also allow adults to purchase reduced-priced meals. However, the others do not.
Check with your school district for rules and information about the summer meal programs it may offer.
