OSHKOSH, WI- (WISS) – A 14-member Search and Screen Committee was appointed Thursday to help identify the next chancellor at UW-Oshkosh (UWO).
Jay Rothman, President of the Universities of Wisconsin, and Amy Bogost, president of the system’s Board of Regents, announced that Regent Ashok Rai will chair the committee and Andrew Smock, Associate Professor in the Department of Radio TV and Film, will be the vice chair.
Others appointed to the committee are:
“The next leader of UW-Oshkosh must be prepared to embrace the opportunities and challenges facing the university as it pursues financial sustainability and academic renewal – all while focusing on student success,” Bogost said.
UWO enrolls nearly 13,000 undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and high school learners.
The executive search firm of Storbeck Search/DSG Global will assist the committee throughout this search process. The committee will determine and interview candidates. A Special Regent Committee will review candidates the Search and Screen Committee forwards. The Special Regent Committee will include Regents Rai, Adongo, Goitom, Kreuser, Nixon, and Walsh and will be chaired by Rai. The successful candidate will require the approval of the entire Board of Regents.
UWO Chancellor Andrew Leavitt resigned last month. His final day as chancellor will be June 30, 2025.
