Burlington Menards Parking Lot Accident Claims Life of 21-Year-Old Employee

BURLINGTON, Wis. (Civic Media) — A 21-year-old man from Burlington was fatally injured last night in a parking lot accident at Menards on Milwaukee Avenue in Burlington.

A statement from Burlington Police says the incident happened at 9:09 p.m. when the victim, attempting to remove items from his trunk, was struck by a co-worker’s vehicle. Both were leaving a work meeting at the store, which was closed at the time.

Local and state agencies are assiting Burlington Police in conducting an investigation.

The driver, a 20-year-old from the Town of Burlington, was not injured and is cooperating with authorities.

At this point, police say no charges are currently being pursued.

The victim’s name has not been released pending family notification.
