JFC and Area Legislators to Hold State Budget Public Hearings

KAUKAUNA, WI- (WISS) – The Joint Finance Committee for the Wisconsin Legislature announced state budget public hearings will be held with the first in Kaukauna on April 2, 2025. The hearing in the Kaukauna High School Auxiliary Gym will start at 10 a.m. and will last until 5 p.m.

The co-chairs of the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC), Senator Howard Marklein (R—Spring Green) and Representative Mark Born (R—Beaver Dam) said there will be four public hearings throughout the state in April.

“We invite you to provide comments and input,” the legislators said in a press release. “Your feedback is an essential part of the budget process. We also encourage you to visit the website…It is a central portal to reach the entire committee, and it will be a helpful tool when looking for information about upcoming budget hearings and other documents related to the budget process.”

In addition to the public hearing with the JFC, Senator Kristin Dassler-Alfheim (D–Appleton) will hold four additional state budget listening sessions for the area. She will be joined by Representatives Lee Snodgrass (D-Appleton), Lori Palmeri (D-Oshkosh), and Dean Kaufert (R-Neenah)

The public hearings will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Upon arrival, attendees will be asked to fill out a form to be added to the testifying queue.
