OSHKOSH, WI- (WISS) – It was a mixed bag of results for school referendums in Northeast Wisconsin. A majority of the questions passed with just a few voted down. Here are the results for the April 1, 2025 election.
Referendums
Kewaunee
Passed
Kewaunee Schools requested $24.5 million for 3K, 4K, and Kindergarten programs. The measure passed by just 12 votes.
Manitowoc
Passed
The Manitowoc School District asked for a $25 million referendum to fund building maintenance and upgrades. The first time in 28 years that the Manitowoc School District has held a referendum was a success.
Marinette
Failed
$48 million for school improvements.
Oshkosh
Passed by a margin of 471 votes.
The Oshkosh Area School District asked voters to approve a $197.8 million referendum to issue debt for the construction of a new middle school, facilities additions and renovations at three elementary schools, conversion of Perry Tipler Middle School to a pre-K center and recreation department, new auditorium for Oshkosh North High, and air conditioning at Emmeline Cook, Lakeside, and Read Elementary schools.
Shiocton
The Shiocton School District asked for two referendums on the Spring Ballot.
Passed
Referendum #1 asked for $23.5 million for district-wide school Building and facility improvement projects.
Failed
Referendum #2 asked for $9.1 million to build a new gymnasium addition.
West DePere
PassedThe West De Pere School District is asking the voters to approve a $9.925 million referendum to issue debt in the form of general obligation bonds. The funds will be used to improve and expand the school’s trade education facilities.
