UWO graduates nearly 600 students in mid-year commencement

OSHKOSH, WI—(WISS)— On Saturday, nearly 600 students at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (UWO) will receive their degrees during the 61st Midyear Commencement. The ceremony begins at 10 am at the Kolf Sports Center.
Speaking for the graduating class is Jacob Heron of Waukegan, Illinois. He graduates with a bachelor’s degree in information systems and an emphasis in computer science. Immediately after graduation, Heron begins his career as a level one systems engineer at Faith Technologies, headquartered in Menasha.
The faculty speaker will be Kazeem Akinyele, an associate professor of accounting in the UW-Oshkosh School of Business.
The ceremony will be live-streamed for family members and friends who cannot attend. The graduates will join more than 110,000 in the UWO alumni family.
