OSHKOSH, WI- (WISS) – Dr. Samuel Coleman, assistant superintendent of instruction at the Oshkosh Area School District, was recognized as the 2024 “Man of Excellence” in the Wisconsin Leadership Community Choice Awards.

In its sixth year, the 365 Leadership Community Choice Awards recognize exceptional leaders who have made significant contributions to their fields. Dr. Coleman was honored at an awards ceremony in October in Madison.

“I am truly humbled and honored to receive this recognition,” said Dr. Coleman. “Education is my passion, and promoting excellence in our schools has been a deeply fulfilling part of my career. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and educators of the Oshkosh Area School District.”

As assistant superintendent of instruction, Dr. Samuel Coleman oversees Pre K-12 academic programs, alternative education, and professional development for OASD staff.

“We are extremely proud of Dr. Coleman and the impact he’s made on our district and beyond,” said Dr. Bryan Davis, superintendent of the OASD. “His commitment to improving outcomes for all students embodies our district’s values, and we are fortunate to have him as part of our team.”

Last year, Dr. Coleman was named one of Madison365‘s Most Influential Black Leaders in Wisconsin for 2023, recognizing his significant contributions to the state’s educational landscape.
