MADISON, Wis (WMDX) – The election for Dane County District 1 Supervisor has been set for June 17.

District 1 is in the middle of the isthmus, including the square. It includes residents who vote at the Madison Municipal Building, Bethel Lutheran, Central Library, Capitol Lakes, Madison Senior Center and 641 West Main Street Apartments.

Elizabeth Doyle represented District 1 for about six years. She announced earlier this year that she’d be stepping down because she can’t afford to live in her own district anymore. She moved out of downtown to find more affordable housing.

The special election is now set for June 17.

The Madison City Clerk’s Office mailed absentee ballots to voters who requested them.

Capitol Lakes is the only residential care facility in the district. Election staff were there Tuesday, May 27 and will be there again Friday, May 30 to help residents vote.
